Scooter Fights City Hall and Reveals the Web of Deception within the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office-BizParentz Foundation, Anne Henry, Sued for Libel-Slander…Not for Profit Scam? Screen Actors Guild (SAG) under legal fire!

What happened to this great City of Angels? Corruption at it’s BEST… California Taxpayers should be appalled!

Scooter is going back to Court once again, to FIGHT FOR THE SMALL BUSINESS GUY in regards to the City of Los Angeles (the “City”) is, once again, attempting to over regulate entertainment support service businesses and the way in which they advertise their services to the Public on sites like Craigslist.org, etc.

You may remember back in 2000, the City of Los Angeles attempted to pass an ill written malicious new law, for which Mr. Carranza of Scooter’s organized a lawsuit with numerous industry Plaintiff’s against the City. The City immediately settled the case, in which they agreed not to enforce any provisions of the new regulation until the “typos” as they called it (ha!) were amended.

Shortly thereafter, the Deputy City Attorney who assisted in the drafting of the ill written legislation, Mark Lambert, of the Los Angeles City Attorney’s office, obviously informed that Scooter’s was behind the filing of the lawsuit against the City, decided to, in turn, with malice, file suit against Scooter’s. He was alleging that Scooter was violating the Job Listing Service Act, as defined by the California Civil Code. Scooter’s fought vigorously in Court and eventually prevailed. The Judge threw out the causes of action pertaining to the Job Listing Service Act, acknowledging it was a misapplication of the Law. Scooter’s was ecstatic. MARK LAMBERT WAS VERY SAD AND QUITE FRUSTRATED!

As Mr. Carranza, CEO of Scooter’s stated, “We have to stand up for the small businesses in this City who are being overregulated and bombarded by City ordinances, making it very difficult to do business and hence, that’s why many businesses are leaving this once great State.”

The taxpayers of California should be appalled at Los Angeles City Attorney Mark Lambert and Rocky Delgadillo for wasting hundreds of thousands of desperately needed tax dollars pursuing frivolous cases, simply because they’re on a personal vendetta, due to their major loss in 2000”… Carranza firmly states. “Now they’re trying to dictate to businesses how they should advertise their services to the Public. Well, I guess its back to Court for Scooter’s”… he adds.

Carranza also commented on how the Media has deliberately been reporting misinformation regarding the case. “It’s obvious to me that the City of Los Angeles and certain Media organizations are in bed together”… he states.

“One Media organization even refers to Scooter’s as a ‘talent agency’, which we’re not… it’s sad what some Media companies will do to boost ratings… it’s deliberate and corrupt”…he further adds.

“I would hope that any current or prospective clients of our long standing organization would greatly appreciate and support a business that stands up for what they believe. The Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office needs to focus their efforts on more important matters instead of bullying small businesses in Los Angeles, simply for hidden political motives”… says Carranza.

Attorney’s for both parties went through vigorous negotiations and compromise to save financially strapped taxpayers of CA well needed funds. Business will continue as usual, as it has for almost 22 years. The Court record will reflect, the wonderful services we provide to our clients were NEVER at issue in this case. The issue was based solely on whether a service business should have to state in it’s advertisements whether or not a fee is required. We are pleased with the outcome”.

*NEWS UPDATE: October 31st, 2009

Deputy City Attorney Mark Lambert is up to his old tricks once again! Mr. Lambert is now going on quite the campaign annoucing Scooter’s has relocated to Las Vegas. To set the record straight, we are now based out of Corporate friendly Las Vegas while still maintaining an office here in Hollywood. Further, Mr. Lambert’s office is maliciously disseminating press releases in order to portray the resolution of our legal case in a False Light. TO REITERATE, THE WONDERFUL SERVICES WE PROVIDE TO OUR CLIENTS WERE NEVER AT ISSUE IN THIS CASE. MARK LAMBERT WOULD LIKE PROSPECTIVE CLIENTS TO BELIEVE DIFFERENTLY. The issue was based solely on whether or not it should be stated in our advertisements that we are not a free service. That’s it! Nothing more, nothing less. A COURT TRANSCRIPT OF THE FINAL HEARING CAN EASILY BE OBTAINED.

Further, individuals like Anne Henry from BizParentz Foundation (a pawn of the City Attorney) have also posted press releases in order to distort the truth. Ms. Henry has earned quite the reputation of “bashing” companies in order to promote her own so called “not for profit” organization. She apparantely is also being sued in Federal Court for Libel-Slander. Rumor has it additional lawsuits are being prepared in Los Angeles, as well. From what we hear, she is quite the stage mother, angry and bitter over the fact her own children never “made it” in show biz.
